All courses will be limited to 9 trainees per month until further notice. Considering that trainees may experience last minute changes, there are no penalities for rescheduling the course at any time for whatever reason.

In-class TESOL Courses

The in-class experience not only helps you earn your authentic TESOL certification recognized worldwide, but also prepares you for the real life industry, both educationally and professionally. Nothing replaces putting theory into practice in a real classroom setting. Getting professional feedback on your lessons during teacher practices prepares you for a successful career in an ESL classroom anywhere in the world.

There are three major advantages to completing your TESOL certification course with TEFL Colombia:

1- Our teacher training program has evolved over the last 30 years to keep up with the latest theories of second language acquisition and methodological approaches. The course is moderated and evaluated to maintain our high standard and within the standards of TEFL International.

2- Our trainee service is unparallelled. From the moment you arrive, our staff is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in case you need help.  From our thorough orientation to the graduation celebration and everything else in between, you'll be taken care of. We also offer lifetime assistance for volunteer or job placement.

3- You'll have a great professor. As the saying goes, "A course is only as good as it's trainer." We're fortunate to have Pete as our Head Trainer at TEFL Colombia. With almost 20 years of ESL experience all around the world, Pete is the perfect trainer to get you started on the right track. His personable approach, non-negotiable positive attitude and attention to detail have left previous trainees more than satisfied with their TESOL course experience.

What's with all the acronyms?

Let's break it down...

They all fundamentally mean the same thing: learning or teaching English as another language.

ESL - English as a Second Language

ESOL - English as a Second or Other Language

(ESL and ESOL generally refers to students learning English in English speaking countries.)

EFL - English as a Foreign Language

TESOL - Teaching English as a Second or Other Language (originally) - Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (more inclusive)

TEFL - Teaching English as a Foreign Language

Students Taking Exams

It’s hard to express in words how I feel about this course.  We had the best professor ever, Pete. I wouldn’t have survived the intensity of this course without Pete’s excellent instruction and support and with the help and support of my classmates.  Thank you TEFL International!

Kathie Snyder (UK)

Pete was hands-down one of the most passionate and professional English teachers I've ever had the pleasure of learning from. He is what every teacher (and teacher trainer) should be: creative, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, patient, interesting, and interested. He knows how to light a fire within the teachers he trains, to show them why this work is so important. He educates teachers on unique and effective tools for instilling a love for language and he challenges you to find your true potential. This is turn creates a ripple effect, where teachers he's trained are able to impact the students they teach in life-changing ways.

Josalin Saffer (US)

This course is an unforgettable treasure.  It needs much dedication, time and effort as it should.  It’s a soulful course focused on the success of its trainees.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart Pete.  P.S. I will miss your jokes and smile!
