ABOUT SANTA MARTA

The Pearl of America

Santa Marta is a lovely beach town nestled between the Sierra Nevada mountains and the Carribean sea.

In the south you'll find Playa Blanca (White Beach) with it's warm sand and crystal clear water. For those willing to spend a little more pesos on accommodation the Marriot Santa Marta has one of the best views in the area.

In the center of town you can take a leisurely stroll around the central park, Parque de los Novios and sightsee the Historic District. Foodies rejoice as Santa Marta has a great variety of culinary experiences from steakhouses to vegan restaurants. From cheap hostels to oceanview resorts, Santa Marta offers places to stay for all budgets.

A short and scenic ride to the north and you'll find Taganga, a fishing town that's very cheap and very relaxed. Taganga is great place to unwind during the the weekend after a long week in class.
